Another day closer...
Rob had a pretty good day today. He's working on building up his strength again, with the help of a real diet. He had lasagna and grape juice for lunch today. It must not have been too bad because he wanted the same thing for supper. He's getting better at helping move himself around. He can help more now when it comes to things like moving himself around in bed, standing up, and walking. He took 2 walks today down to the far nurses station and back. He's doing pretty good with the walks and asks to take them. He had several visitors that he enjoyed seeing today. It was the first time he got to see several of them since he's been awake again so he was happy to see their faces. He also worked more on capping the trache today. He capped it for about a total of an hour today. Each time he can do it, it will get easier for him to get used to it. But as he says "it's not going to happen overnight".
They have stopped his tube feeds during the day so he can be more hungry to eat his meals. They will continue them overnight to keep nutrition going for him. For the most part, he has a low level of medications that he is still receiving. Just insulin to regular his sugars, a drug to keep blood clots from forming, an iron supplement, and a triglyceride medication that he had been on previous to this all happening. So all in all, he's getting much better. A little more each day.
