Getting stronger...
Rob is steadily gaining his strength back. It's been over 10 days since he was released from rehab in Ottumwa. He's more comfortable in his movements and is building strength everyday. Endurance and muscle strength are the 2 main things he lost after being in bed so long. He had a follow up appointment yesterday with our family doctor and he says he seems to be doing well. We have another follow up appointment in Iowa City on Thursday with the Endocrinologist. He is doing well on his new diet and adjusting to his new lifestyle. It will still be quite a while before he goes back to work. He needs to be back at full strength with the ability to work over 8 hours before he can attempt that again. His safety is a big concern when it comes to that.
It's great to have him home again. I can't even describe how good it felt to sleep in our own bed the first night home. We were both in heaven. We're enjoying a little time at home now since I'm not back to work yet either. His doctor's have given me a couple more weeks to stay home with him until he's a little stronger, which we are very thankful for. After all the stress we've been through, we really could use the chance to relax and enjoy some time together. We better enjoy the quiet time now, in another 8 weeks or so we won't have it anymore. Once the baby decides to join us that will be over. So we're soaking up our last few weeks of alone time.
Thanks again to everyone for the calls, prayers, emails, and gifts during Rob's hospitalization and since his release. We appreciate every one of you!
God Bless!
